STAFF !
Oliver Myers !
"He thought he knew it all." 63- Co-Owner Oliver Myers has been competitively owning and training horses since he was sixteen. With extensive knowledge in dressage, it's unknown why he abandoned the art to enter into the rough world of racing. He's the main founder of the operation, and the owner with the most shares of the property, giving him the ultimate authority. He's the main brain of the operation, but his daughter is coming along just fine, and he's happy to run the stables with her at his side. |
Rosaline Myers !
"She was always seeking his approval." 28- Co-Owner Rosaline Myers has been competitively owning and training horses since she was four. Also having an extensive knowledge in Dressage, she abandoned it as well to set up a racing stables with her father. She is also a founder of Blue Cross Estates, and helps her father out with all financial and private affairs that happen at the stables, as well as with the horses and the training if necessary, She is the heir to the estate, and will assume complete control over it at her father's passing. |
Alexander Descartes !
"He had a secret he couldn't keep." 56- Head Trainer Alexander Descartes has been in the world of horse racing since he was a child, with his father owning the renowned Thorn Woods Inc. racing stable. He grew up to work for his father, training champion after champion until a falling out occurred between the pair. He then left Thorn Woods Inc. for Blue Cross Estates, and has resided their ever since. With him came his close friend and colleague Stanley Newton, and the pair are planned to take Blue Cross Estates straight to the top. |
Stanley Newton !
"He was running from what he left behind." 30- Head Jockey Record-28-6-9-5 Assigned- Saving Sanity, Wishing For A Heroine, Stanley Newton has been riding horses professionally since he was nineteen, and just as long for Thorn Woods Inc. Through it he developed a close relationship with head trainer Alexander Descartes, and naturally opted to follow the head trainer to Blue Cross Estates. He is currently responsible for all three of the Cross Stock, and is the designated jockey for all stock until numbers improve and another jockey becomes necessary. |
Christopher Descartes !
"He couldn't do anything right" 29- Jockey Record-19-7-7-3 Assigned- Barely Legal, Song Of Ascent The son of the head trainer, he was originally riding for another unknown racing stable until conflict occurred and he was dropped as a jockey. Blue Cross was hesitant to pick him up after hearing of the incident, but under the promise and responsibility of his father, he has become the jockey of Predator, and the pair has been doing well. He has also had good luck at calming Firefall down, and is scheduled to ride the yearling in his first prospect. |
Madeline Walker !
"She never had anyone who cared" 25- Jockey Record-26-9-6-3 Assigned- Agorion A Jockey rather new to the business, she's only been riding professionally for about four years, and only for minor stables. Upon coming to Blue Cross, she was auditioned and accepted after displaying remarkable ability in controlling Fleet Street and getting along well with Apollo Bear. She receives extra attention from Newton due to her lesser experience of the jockeys, but her ability to ride harmoniously with her horses allows the estate to trust her to win for them. |
Jaimie Sandler !
"She needed to prove herself." 19- Jockey Record-11-4-2-2 Assigned- Criss Cross Fresh out of Jockey school, she's an untried jockey that's never seen a race. As such, she's working primarily as an exercise rider for the Estate and training under Newton to reach the point where she can be trusted to race for her first time. She primarily exercises Criss Cross, and the pair have been getting along better and better, though Newton still hasn't given the go ahead for such a green combination, and would prefer she try a more experienced horse first before attempting a younger one. |
Louis Gerry !
"He didn't know what else to do." 42-Head Groom The most trusted member of the staff when it comes to information and care of the horses, he's an experienced and knowledgeable groom working happily for the estate. He supervises the care of all the animals, and is the groom that accompanies them to their races when the situation allows. He probably has the most intimate relationship out of all the staff with the horses, and if advice is needed on how to handle a horse, he's the one the head trainer comes to see. He's a respected and valued member of Blue Cross Estates. |
Thomas Lux !
"He just couldn't stay away" 28- Assistant Trainer Tommy Lux has a long history with Blue Cross Estates, starting back when he was just eight years old. As a child he stabled and rode his own horse within Blue Cross Estates while they were still a dressage barn, and was a serious competitor until the age of seventeen, when his family moved away, and Tommy was forced to sell his horse and leave the estate behind. As it always seems to happen, he couldn't get the horse out of his blood, and turned to the horse racing tracks his family had moved near too. He started riding as an exercise rider, and moved up to be a jockey for a short while until he struggled to make weight and could not continue. As luck would have it, he instead found a passion for training the horses instead of riding them. He and Rosaline Myers have been lifelong friends, so when it happened that she told him of an opening position at the Estate, he took it without hesitation. |
Lucy Gallows !
"She was a talent no one had seen" 16- In Training No one really knows where Lucy Gallows came from. One day there were only four jockeys at the Estate and the next there were six. Of course The Myers immediately told them they had to go home, but the pair persisted, and it was soon found that the pair had been orphaned. The government caught up pretty quick and soon there was a social worker up to remove them. The only thing that stopped Oliver Myers from letting them go was when he saw Lucy ride. She had uncontrolled talent, one that he wanted. He vouched for both of the young people and allowed for them to stay at the Estate under the agreement that they rode for him alone, and it was agreed too. Lucy is especially close with Rosaline Myers, and has a bizarre knack for getting on with horses. She is still strictly in training under Stanley Newton and Alexander Descartes, and will from there be allowed to ride professionally. |
Luke Gallows !
"He just wanted something to work" 17- In Training No one really knows where Luke Gallows came from. Luke does not have the raw talent that his sister does, but he does share an appreciation of horses and a desire to work hard. He gets along well with Thomas Lux, who goes out of his way to make sure he is okay. He is under the same contract as his sister, and trains under Stanley, and at the moment has no mounts. It is less of a sure thing if he will be able to continue living at the Estate if he does not show some promise soon. |
Hudson Flloyd !
"He wanted another chance" 45- Head Veterinarian Hudson Flloyd new one thing and one thing only when he was younger, and that was that he most definitely did not want to work with horses. He had an acute hatred of the creatures ever since an aged pony threw him at a friends birthday party. Little did he know just how closely he would work with these creatures in the future. He set out to be a physical therapist instead, and what he found was remarkable. One of his patients, a thirteen year old girl paralyzed in the left side of her body, dramatically improved when introduced to equines. From there, he was drawn to them, and the attraction never left. He went back to school and became an equine vet, and has since successfully operated as one of the best in the country. He worked for BCE in their dressage days as well, and Oliver couldn't help but recruit him to assist his horses throughout the world of competitive racing, |
